Help - About Held Share Alerts

StockWhip supports task tray alerts for the following events

  • share price moves above set level - useful for indicating potential profit taking of a position

  • share price moves below set level - useful for indicating stop loss should be taken

There are two ways to get alerts from StockWhip on price activity, manual and automatic mode. The choice between using Manual and Auto modes is set from the Tools/Options dialog box.

In Manual Mode, you simply enter in the upper and lower price ranges for each share holding. When price activity causes any of these limits to be breached, you will be notified from the task tray icon.

In Auto Mode, these values are set for you using data analysis of the price history. Please see Watchlists for details of the auto upper and lower price values. The only difference with the auto upper and lower prices in the Held Shares table is that the auto lower price is never allowed to decrease while the share is held.

Disclaimer! These Auto indicators do not constitute advice about actions that may or may not be taken.
